Fall Exhibition Special Lecture The Canal Builders December 16 - 7:00 p.m. Click Here to Join the Lecture Via a Live Webcast In conjunction with the Fall Exhibition Kiss of the Oceans, Dr. Julie Greene will present the special lecture The Canal Builders inside the Flagler Museum's Grand Ballroom. There will be a book signing following the lecture. Dr. Julie Greene specializes in United States labor and working-class history. She is the author of The Canal Builders: Making America's Empire at the Panama Canal. The Organization of American Historians awarded The Canal Builders its 2009 James A. Rawley Prize for the best book on the history of race relations. Dr. Julie Greene is the president of the Society for Historians of the Gilded Age and Progressive Era. She is a 2013-2014 Rockefeller Foundation Fellow and Professor of History at the University of Maryland at College Park.
