Progressivism vs. Expansionism

Progressivism and Expansionism Now that the United States of America is on the verge of changing its political landscape, due to the Progressivist agenda, thoughts come to mind of the early 1800’s when more states were added to the Union, such as the Louisiana purchase in 1803. This may be the time to rethink our vision of America, and take some real actions that could definitely change our landscape. Politicians have been talking about adding DC and Puerto Rico to the Union. Well, that is one step in this direction. We are also talking about opening the south border, and the dreams of caravans of millions of Central Americans, would “invade” the south portion of our Country and spread to the rest of the States from there. Well, instead of this massive influx, what about a different approach? What about an Expansionism done by invitation only? Invitation to the whole continent, to join our Union. So, instead of having 7 independent countries in Central America, 12 in South America and 25 in the Caribbean, and one other country in North America, we could have 45 new “States” added to the Union, if all accept the invitation. Joining forces, will make us stronger by being a one block that goes from Tierra del Fuego in Patagonia to Cape Columbia on Ellesmere Island at the 83 ͦ latitude north. Therefore, the current presidents of these countries will be like governors of the new “States” and there can be free transit between the new “States” through the Panamerican highway that could be finished. This will be the true vision of America, adding almost 686 million people to our ranks, and giving us a total population of 1’016.000 people. We still could not compete with the countries that have approximately 1.5 billion people like China and India or Russia with 146 million people. However, we will not be a mere 330 million. So, as fast as Mr. Biden is moving to change our landscape, looks like there is much to do, and challenges to tackle, if this was the new vision for America in the 21st Century. Then I woke up, and realize that this had been a dream, but in a world of alternate reality, I thought: “Well, why not?”
