So far Guatemala has received 1700 children deported from Mexico and 69 youth deported from the United States. President Otto Perez Molina and Attorney General Vladimir Aguilar mentioned "We will take action if minors are exposed again to migrate".

Guatemalan Congress discussed increasing prison sentences for the crime of trafficking in the case of minors, and make a reengineering Migration Management.
