Fundraising for Kids in Chocó, Colombia
Lately, Dr. Jaime Gómez and his collaborators Dr. Juan Andres
Moreno and yours truly wrote a book about the Colombia Canal (both in English
and Spanish). Our main interest is to do
something about the humanitarian crisis going on in Choco, Colombia where
15,000 children were identified with malnutrition by a Pediatrician in Chocó. The earnings of the book will be dedicated to
purchase nutritional supplements for the children from Vitalac a Colombian company. The supplements will be distributed
through the Midwife Network and the Pacific Corporation in Choco.
The Colombia Canal, is an infrastructure project that will
bring income to this area of Colombia which is gifted with natural
resources, but where capital resources are lacking. For this reason there is a deficit in health
and education services, 60% unemployment as well as extreme poverty.
